Meet Our Physicians
Dr. Tannys Vause completed her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of Manitoba. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alberta and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2008. Dr. Vause completed a two year sub-specialty fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Ottawa in 2010.
Dr. Vause is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and an attending physician at the Ottawa Hospital. She is a consultant physician and partner of the Ottawa Fertility Centre. She is certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound. Dr. Vause is also the fellowship director of the Royal College-approved training program in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Ottawa. She stays current in her field through ongoing research, training courses, and conferences, and by teaching colleagues, medical fellows, residents, and medical students.
Dr. Vause’s fertility practice includes all areas of reproductive and infertility care, as well as patient education. She strongly believes the most important thing in a doctor-patient relationship is communication. Having undergone fertility issues and treatment herself, Dr. Vause emphasises the power of communication and patient experience, ensuring that you are heard and understood, and guiding you through all the steps of diagnosis and treatment. She has experienced both sides of the relationship, as a patient searching for answers, and as a doctor trying to provide support and care. Dr. Vause also counsels couples to optimize their pre-pregnancy health, to maximize their fertility outcomes. She welcomes all new patients to her practice and aims to help you navigate this challenging time in life and find your path to a happy and healthy pregnancy.
