Dr. Clara Wu
What makes this career truly rewarding is the outcome – the birth of healthy babies. The joy and happiness that comes with helping a couple or individual become parents is indescribable. Seeing the smiles on their faces and knowing that you played a part in creating a new family is incredibly special.
Dr. Clara Wu completed her medical degree at McGill University, her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Saskatchewan, and her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Ottawa. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at Harvard University and hopes to bring an evidence-based approach to her fertility practice.
Dedicated to research, Dr. Wu has presented at national and international conferences, and has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her past endeavors have garnered research awards from the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Canada. Family and friends have welcomed Dr. Wu with open arms and made her feel at home in Ottawa when she moved there in 2019. From exploring its iconic landmarks and museums to enjoying delicious food and festivals, she has enjoyed incredible experiences in the city she now calls home. She believes that what makes it truly special is the people who make up her support network here; that includes family, friends and wonderful colleagues, who have made Ottawa feel like a place where she belongs. Outside of work, her favorite activities involve hiking, cross country skiing, and traveling with family. Hiking through the stunning landscapes of national parks and gliding through a snowy forest on cross country skis can always put a smile on her face. When she is traveling with family, she enjoys creating unforgettable memories together as they discover new places, try new foods, and learn about different cultures. She believes there is nothing quite like the excitement of experiencing something new with the people you love most.
