Dr. Bryden Magee
Early on in my medical training, I knew I wanted to specialize in fertility because it’s something that impacts so many people’s lives and treatments are ever-changing. I strive to provide individualized care for those with PCOS or ovulatory dysfunction, infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. Another important area of my fertility practice is working with the LGBTQ2S+ community and providing third party reproduction and fertility preservation.
Dr. Bryden Magee completed her Bachelor of Health Science at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She went on to complete her Doctor of Medicine at Queen’s University and stayed to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2015. She completed her fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at the University of Ottawa in 2017. Dr. Magee is certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in obstetrical and gynaecological ultrasound. She is an active member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
She is an Assistant Professor and the Residency Rotation Supervisor for REI at the University of Ottawa, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the regional representative on the Specialty Committee in REI for the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada and a member of the REI Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC) committee, which develops national guidelines on standards of practice in REI. She is passionate about residency and fellowship education and involved in postgraduate teaching and evaluation.
Dr. Magee cares for individuals and couples with infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, polycystic ovary syndrome, endocrine disorders, and primary ovarian insufficiency. She offers fertility options for many LGBTQS+ individuals and families. She is committed to regional outreach to help improve access to care for people who live outside of the Ottawa area. She maintains a strong connection with Kingston and helps facilitate satellite monitoring at Kingston General Hospital.
Dr. Magee lived in Ottawa during her fellowship training in 2015-2017 and returned in 2021. She enjoys Ottawa because it is a wonderful city with easy to access nature, multicultural community events, and a vibrant music and art scene. She appreciates the strong sense of community at the Ottawa Fertility Centre and feels lucky to be able to work with such a dedicated group pf people who are all striving towards the same goal – helping people achieve their unique family goals in a safe and supportive environment. Outside of work, Dr. Magee loves exploring the outdoors with her family. They enjoy skiing in the Gatineau and biking together along the Rideau River and Canal.
